Forty Hours Devotion

November 19-21

St. Philip will have its annual Forty Hours Devotion of continuous prayer before the Blessed Sacrament on November 19 through 21. The 40 hours recalls the time Jesus’ body lay in the tomb between His death and resurrection.

We will begin on Thursday, November 19, at 7:00 pm with a Mass of Thanksgiving for the beatification of Blessed Fulton Sheen. Throughout his life, Sheen strongly promoted the Holy Hour of Adoration, keeping his own daily Holy Hour for more than sixty years. He was a living testament to the line from the Gospel of Matthew: “Could you not spend one hour with me?” (cf. Matthew 26:40)

Ways to sign up for an hour of adoration during this devotional period will be coming soon.
